Dr. Ezinne Ezepue serves as the Director of Programs at the Eastern Nigeria Film and Arts Initiative (ENFAI). She is also a lecturer in film at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, holding a BA in Theatre & Film Studies from Nigeria, an MA in Film & TV from Birmingham, and a PhD in Media Studies from Birmingham. Her research extensively covers Nollywood, African folktales, entertainment-education, and the creative economy.
Dr. Ezepue is passionate about exploring how African folktales can be harnessed for sustainable development and how film can inspire new identities and challenge stereotypes. She emphasizes the importance of authentically African stories and has a keen interest in documentary filmmaking.
In her role at ENFAI, she has been instrumental in organizing workshops aimed at reimagining traditional folklore for contemporary audiences, thereby contributing significantly to the preservation and modernization of African storytelling traditions.
