Ike Nnaebue

Ike Nnaebue is a distinguished Nigerian filmmaker, screenwriter, producer, and cultural entrepreneur. Born in 1975 in Ojoto, Nigeria, Ike has built a reputation for his impactful contributions to African cinema, focusing on authentic storytelling and empowering emerging filmmakers across the continent.
His works tackle relevant social issues, with his film Sink or Swim receiving acclaim for addressing illegal migration and human trafficking. The film won the Best Narrative Feature award at the Newark International Film Festival. His 2022 documentary No U- Turn, which explores migration and personal resilience, earned a Special Jury Mention at the Berlin International Film Festival and was featured in over 11 international film festivals.

Beyond filmmaking, Ike is dedicated to nurturing new talent in the film industry. He leads the LP House of Creatives, an initiative aimed at transforming African cinema and empowering creatives. His training programs, particularly in smartphone filmmaking, focus on providing the tools and knowledge to young filmmakers in Africa. Ike also received the Artistic Bravery Award at the Durban International Film Festival in 2022, honoring his innovation and courage in filmmaking.
